The Exam Structure

You can answer two questions about poetry.

The exam will last one hour and forty-five minutes

and is also worth 25% of your total GCSE.

The exam is divided into two sections:

Section A: Unseen Poems

• You'll certainly be presented with a

poem you may have not examined.

• You read through the poem and

answer the questions arranged.

This section is worth 20 MARKS

Section B: Anthology Poetry

• You can answer 1 question in 2 parts.

• Each part is worth 15 REPRESENTS

• It is worth 31 MARKS

• In part (a) you will be asked a question

of a named poem from the anthology

collection you may have studied.

• In part (b) you will answer one query

from to choose two when you will be

supposed to link/compare two poems.
